The simple fact is there aren't enough testing labs to meet new state testing rules, which creates long waits and many problems for farmers and producers trying to get their products to market. There is now a huge interest in starting cannabis (marijuana and/or hemp) testing laboratories.
We have a team that does nothing but set up these labs. The team has successfully run its own testing lab and has extensive background in ISO rules and regulations. We can do this for you in any one of three ways.
With the lab team helping you get started and showing you all of the "recipes" you can start in as little as six months when a laboratory usually takes 18-24 months to get up and running. - Where do I Start – Once you decide you want to start a testing lab, all you need to do is tell us where you want it and we go to work. As much as seven thousand man hours will be put into your laboratory. We will assist you in determining the right location for your building. We make sure that the building will work for a testing lab. We immediately start writing your customized QMS with ISO certification readiness as the end goal. Next we order your instruments. Then comes hiring staff. Hiring staff sounds easy enough, but there are actually ISO rules for how this has to be done and by whom. Once we have at least the management staff hired and after the instruments arrive we start extensive on site work. The goal is to get all staff and processes to be ISO compliant ready so that you start with a quality testing laboratory as quickly as possible!
- Instrument Selection - We have a package of instrumentation that is specific to this industry. These instruments will be included in your QMS
- Compliance and ISO – The laboratory will be setup with compliance in mind. We will setup all processes to make sure that you will be in ISO compliance and ready for inspection. Our team has a great deal of ISO background.
- SOPs/QMS – Standard Operating Procedures - As part of compliance, you have to have written procedures for every step and process in the lab. Everything has to be written down from type of sample, sample location, the type of tweezers used with the ID number, to even the type of air freshener used in the restroom. Again, it is the lack of adherence to ISO regulations and good laboratory practices that shut down laboratories.
- SDS – Typically, Safety Data Sheets are a requirement for all laboratories and must be accessible to first responders or others in case of emergency. As part of our service, we would develop Safety Data Sheets for all chemicals used and stored onsite in the laboratory.
- We carry all of the instruments required for for compliance testing as well as solvents, reagents, consumables.
